Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #261 Lot's of Layers

Welcome to Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #261 Lot's of Layers

                 Jackie is hosting today's challenge!

As usual, anything you care to enter is fine, a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece, some home decor, as long as it meets the theme. I choose to make a fun fold card for a stepdaughter, no stamping or ink required!

Hope this post finds everyone safe and happy. It has been a long haul and I cannot wait for things to return to normal (if there is such a thing). I totally dislike the mask yet realize it's importance, miss the visiting of friends and family from out of town, hate feeling like a criminal going down the wrong aisle, I just miss the normal!! Now having said all that I am happy, I am in good health and certainly wish to remain that way LOL.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #258 Wedding

Welcome to Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #258 - Wedding

Jackie is hosting today's challenge!

As usual, anything you care to enter is fine, a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece, some home decor, as long as it meets the theme.

A tri shutter wedding card for my niece, using the colours she had chosen (black, white and green) for her wedding. I love tri shutter cards but very seldom make them, but for this occasion, I thought it was an appropriate fold. I have had this card in my non published file for a while and decided this was a good time to post it.  The sentiment is a very old Lexi's Creations digital one I have had for many years.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge # 245 Thankful

Welcome to Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #245 - Thankful

As usual, anything you care to enter is fine, a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece, some home decor, as long as it meets the theme.

I recently visited an old friend and decided to send her a thank you card for a wonderful day full of laughter and reminiscing!  I also wanted to try out this fold. I had a little help from another couple of friends re stamps and layout. Aren't friends the most wonderful things to have! I used magnets to keep the front banner closed. All in all, I am quite pleased with it AND I love learning new things (at least new to me)!

Stamps: Stampin Up
Die Cuts for the closure: Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #236 Anything but a Card

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #236 Anything but a Card. Angela is hosting today's challenge and anything you care to enter is fine as long as it meets the no card theme.

As you can see I chose to make a calendar-notepad holder. I wanted to make one back in January but could not find the calendar anywhere. I happened to be in a Dollar Tree the other day and right before me was one lone 2019 mini calendar, so of course, I bought it. I had to remove some months from the calendar but that's OK. (it now reads June lol!) Just a fun thing to make and I quite like it.

Card Details:
I used Stampin' Up card stock, some designer paper, a mini calendar and a sticky note pad. The larger embellishment flowers were made from a jar of flower petals I found hidden in my stash. I punched some petals to which I added rhinestone centers and adhered them to the larger flower petals.  I added three more of the small punched petals for added interest and adhered them to die cut leaves I had glued to the background.

Do come, join the fun and share your creations with us!

Crafty Cardmakers challenge #234 Birthdays

Josephine is hosting today's challenge and the theme is Birthdays!

As usual, anything you care to enter is fine, a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece,  some home decor as long as it meets the texture theme.

I made my card using the Fun Fold technique called 'Twist and Pop'. A friend had previously used the fold to make some cards and taught my crafting buddy and me at one of our Friday crafting get-togethers.  I so liked the fold I decided to use it to make a card for an upcoming special 75th Birthday celebration.  I hope to make more of cards with this fold. (an online instruction video for the fold can be found here).

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 197- Fancy Folds

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 197 - Fancy Folds

Time for another challenge at Crafty Cardmakers  and this fortnight the challenge is 'Fancy Folds'.  Hosting this challenge is Margaret. Please note: this particular challenge is for cards only.

I choose this ever so easy center fold . Cut out an eight x six inch piece of  cardstock, score vertically at 2, 3, 5 1/2  and 6 1/2 inches and fold accordingly. Cut out a 3 3/4 inch square. This is your card base, decorate as you like.  So very easy! I choose to add decorative paper  within a brown border., added a colour coordinated flower, some trailing vines and a sentiment cut from a die . I also added a decorative strip to the  two one inch stripes that make up the side of center folded part of the card. I adhered the square center piece  to the center fold with tape.

This will fold up to a  six by 4 1/2 inch  card.

Cardstock: Stampin Up 'Bermuda Bay', Early Expresso
Paper;( Discontined) Doodle Pantry
 Flower: stash
Dies: Jim Holtz  Thinlets  for the sentiment, Creative Expressions Craft Dies by Sue Wilson  - Petite Vinery,  Memory Box 'Grape Vine Border

Gift Box

Challenge # 178  at Crafty Cardmakers - Anything but a Card. Please stop by to see all the fabulous creations  by my talented teamies and join in the fun with your own creations! My choice was  the following :

Gift Box and Money/Card Holder

Do you need something small to hold a gift certificate or money?,   I made this for a granddaughter to hold her gift , which is money, but wanted something special to hold it in.  Something to make the money more personal, and let her know some thought went into the gift. I love how it turned out! You can throw some treats into the box for an added touch. Every item I used was from my stash . I used Spellbinders  circle and  scalloped dies and  I think the paper was Stampin' Up.

Bugaboo ATG - Snowman and Birds

Bugaboo's 'Catch the Bug'  Anything Goes  November Challenge.
The first Saturday of the month is ATG and I choose the stamp 'Snowman and  Birds'. Isn't it delightful!  I made the snowman's hat, scarf and the wee bird (on top the hat) dimensional. I coloured the image with Prismacolor markers and used Stampin' Up's Banners Framelits Dies for the image frames  (the red, black and white backing). This was then adhered to a 'tag' card base. I added a bow and  black ribbon to finish it off. The sentiment is Stampin' Up's with a punched out oval frame.

I am having way too much fun with these Bugaboo images!

Have A Tweet Day

Couldn't resist making another card using this  fold, just love it. Here is the last one I made for Valentines. This time I am concentrating  on a summer theme.  I figured a birdhouse with a birdie, a sun in the sky (well two facsimiles of a sun) and some flowers and grass is pretty summery! Aaah good things  to come, certainly looking forward to it.

The birdie,  birdhouse top and the wee bird house on the stand were all made dimensional  with foam tape.

Doodle Pantry is the proud sponsor of this weeks challenge over at Fab 'n' Funky Challenges and the challenge theme is 'Heat Stroke'.  Please take time to visit their blog and perhaps join in the fun!

Isn't this birdhouse a darling image from Doodle Pantry,  It comes with coloured &  non- coloured images, sentiments and digital paper.

Valentine Love You

I  love this fold and when I recently saw a card   made with  it ,my interest was stirred. See here for my inspiration; it is by Crafty-Stamper  and it's a beauty!  The stamp on my card is from 'Lacy Sunshine' and is called 'Rory-Love-Letters' .

I used Stampin'Up cardstock (Marina Mist, Whisper White, Chocoalte Chip) and a pink cardstock from Michaels. The designer paper is from DCWV 'the Four Seasons stack'. The image was coloured with Prismaclor Markers and Copics . The Copics was for the flesh tones (E13,E00,E000,E02). The blue and pink heart  is a 'Hearts with Wings' sticker by Jolee's By You.  The brown heart is from Cuttlebug's  'Hearts and Stamps' die. I also used Spellbinders 'deckled  rectangles ' die for the sentiment frame. The sentiment is an  'I Love You' rubber stamp  by Craft Smart, I just didn't stamp the ' I'  and  I rearranged the 'love you' placement. I will be entering this card into the following Challenges. The first being the Lacy Sunshine Challenge #26    Add a Sentiment.

Sugar and Spice Lexi's Creations Challenge 108

The challenge is anything goes and I chose an easel card with a Mo Manning image and a FDC (Fairy Dust Crafts) sentiment. Love both the image and sentiment, I think they make a perfect match. It is a Birthday card for our great granddaughter who turns 2 and who I think looks a bit like her, the same soft  blond run away hair, the toddling feet and both cute as a button :)! Aren't die cuts wonderful, they make the most lovely embellishments. This was fun card to make!

Sammie Snowman

Sammie Snowman from Fairy Dust Crafts (FDC) is one of my  favourite snowmen and I make at least one card every year with this image.. This year it is an easel card and I have used a few new die cuts and some liquid pearls. The background is paper made with shaving cream and re-inkers;see here for tutorial!

My stamping buddy and I sat down a while ago and spent some time making background paper with  shaving cream and re-inkers. Had been quite a while since we had used the technique. We had so much fun making them and the paper smelled so nice! The  dies's are Memory Box's 'Gabriella Border' and for the fence  Impression Obsession Die 034-U. I used Prismacolor markers to colour the image and   pasted an old snowflake found in my stash to provide the means to keep the easel card upright!
