LEJ Designs DT Card - Fair Maiden

Here is my DT card for LEJ Designs challenge #49 with the theme 'Embossing'.  This card  features  a   digi from LEJ Designs called 'Fair Maiden' . I love this image and this is my second card using her.  Our challenge this week is to create a project using the technique of embossing. For this card I heat embossed the large background cardstock and dry embossed the vertical strip , the edges of the focal square and the foliage leaves!

Here Kitty, Kitty

Here is my DT card for LEJ Designs challenge #47 with the theme ' My favourite Style'.  This card  features  a   digi from LEJ Designs called ' Here Kitty, Kitty' .  He doesn't look all that happy does he and look at those little fangs, you might not want to mess with him :o)! He reminded me of my son's  girl friend's cat , Popeye is his name and if he happens to not be happy with what you are doing, can turn on you  hissing and spitting and carrying on like a tiger.  Left to his own devices he would be the terror of the neighbourhood. My lovely sister looks after him whenever my son and his girlfriend come up to visit us and she puts up with all his antics. Thinking of giving the card to her with a case of bandages LOL.

I popped up the kitties head   for some more dimension. Oh and getting back to the theme, I love big bold flowers  & foliage  on my cards!

I needed a Easter card so thought this would be a good opportunity to do both!  I popped up the daffodil by printing out an additional image, colouring the flower, cutting it it out and using  a pop dot ,placed it over top of the original!

Favourite Technique - LEJ Designs

A day for Daisies

   

Favourite technique: I have so many favourites I wasn't sure which to use but decided to display several! I've used heat/ dry embossing  and distressing (which I love but not so good at) on the above card :O)

Dry embossing:  used the Cuttlebug Embossing folder 'Snowflakes' on the paper below the tag.  The paper cracked and gave a beautiful worn look to it. This only works on some papers. I have often had to sand the ridges to get the same effect.

Heat embossing:: I heat embossed the Kraft paper by stamping the paper with a Versamark inked  Stampin' Up  background stamp called 'Fine Lace', added the embossing power to the stamped paper and blow dried the paper with my heat embossing tool.

Distressing: using a Tim Holtz  tool I scraped the edges of the heat embossed paper for the distressed look, which went well with the sanded effect of the dry embossing.
