Jellybean Ants - Doodle Pantry Sponsors - Digital Tuesday

Doodle Pantry is a sponsor this week for - Digital Tuesday - with the theme of  going "buggy" (bugs) ! This has got to be fun right, think of the choice! There has  to be a millions bug stamps out there and for sure Laurie has lots of them at Doodle Pantry. I choose the ants from DP's digital stamp set  called 'Jellybean Ants'! I used a pre coloured image and to give some dimension I coloured the ants from the outline version and set them on top of the original ants. Here they are frolicking and stuffing themselves on those delicious jellybeans. We have all done that  have we not!! The sentiment is from the same set, as is the digital paper shown in the circle at the top right.

Challenges:
Digital Tuesday:  going buggy

Delightful Challenges:  weekly challenge - use digital paper The jellybean paper in the circle is from Doodle Pantry's  stamp set - Jellybean Ants

The Cat has Spoken

Theme: Use a Doodle Pantry Image

Challenge rules have changed and you can now enter twice and winners get to choose $5.00 retail value worth of products. There is a new tiered winner selection based on the number of entries. To get all the latest information please visit the Doodle Pantry Stock the Pantry  challenge.
I created this card with the rather regal looking cat (or is it cat with attitude) and fabulous sentiment in clelebration of  Doodle Pantry's 'Stock the Pantry' Aug.20th challenge. The image  and sentiment are from Doodle Pantry's  Aug.5th, 2011 release and can be found here.  The cat was coloured with Prismacolor markers and the clouds and ground with Stampin' Up ink. The green background paper and cut out flowers are from a sheet of 12x12 paper I bought a while ago and I do not remember who made it.    I used a small filigree jewelry finding for the charm I put above the sentiment.

Inside the card I added a circle sentiment  'have a delightful day' from  the  Aug.5th release by Doodle pantry.

Conciousness

My hubby has a birthday coming up and this is the card I made for him.  I like to tease him about the retired life and thought this  stamp and sentiment would bring a chuckle or two!    Bugaboo has the most wonderful character digital stamps and the ones of Gus ( the character  I used for this card) are hilarious.   I find making cards for hubby a little difficult as I cannot embellish them as I would most. He is an outdoors man, target shooter, rough carpenter, handy man well you name it and if it has a tool, a Labrador dog, camouflage or the like on it than  that is him.  Therefore for this card I added the old boots, some leaves, twine and screw type brads. The boots are  a digital stamp from Beccy's Place and I  thought they would be perfect for this card as hubby always has old boots stored somewhere:)  The leaves are a Sizzix  die cut from Stampin' Up, the background die cuts  are Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Reverse Wonky Rectangles'.

Challenges:
Catch the Bug - Bugaboo: distressed /shabby chic - I distressed the edges of the wonky rectangles with the Tim Hotlz little  distressed gizmo...

Christmas in August

I love getting a head start on Christmas cards, here is the second  one I have made this month!!
Doodle Pantry is a sponsor  over at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge this week. The theme is  Fancy Folds . Hop over and take a look, you might be inspired to take on the challenge with a chance to win a Doodle Pantry prize!
Aug 14 - Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - special folds (not just 1 on left or top)

Card Details: I used a DP digital stamp called 'Topiary Seasons'- I choose the coloured  Christmas version  and framed the image with a  Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Ten die.
I tried to keep this one pretty simple and let the shape be the highlight  for enhancing the image . This was the first time I have tried out this technique of making a Center Step Card. Relatively easy. The gorgeous digital paper is from the matching Doodle Pantry  paper set!

Embellishments: the holly is from a Stampin'Up Christmas Set  'Sleigh Bells Ring'. I stamped twice, coloured and cut out the image and adhered them to the card. The various snowflakes are from MS punches  as are the branches.

ATC Congrats

Our lovely Katie  got a promotion  at her work and I have made this little ATC to celebrate the fact. The little mouse I used is so happy he
cannot contain himself   and  the joy overflows . So it is with Katie. Congrads hon, we are so happy for you. I  made  a card to go with it so I would have room to write a little note to her. You just slip the ATC under  the little  green and blue rectangle and the large flower keeps it from falling through.  For those reading this post who might not know what an ATC is, it is an Artist Trading  Card (like a hockey card) and is   2 1/2" x 3 1/2".  On the back you should give it a name and sign it.

Card details: the stamp is a House Mouse and Friends stamp, the paper is all from  Stampin Up  except for the blue  which was from a friend (origin unknown - the paper not the friend) :). I used Prismacolor markers to colour the mouse and Stampin'  Up  ink to sponge  in the clouds. I added thin blue ribbon to the yellow stripes which had been dry embossed using Stampin' Up Sizzix 'textured impressions stripes', small pearls and a few  dew drops to add some extra interest.

Challenges :
1. House Mouse & Friends challenge#101 - ATC
2. Cooking it up with Katie #70 Emboss -summer-punch/diecut ; I dry embosed the yellow background strips, kind of hard to see in the photsos. used

DT Card for Lexi's Creations Challenge #46 1-2-3 Recipe

I love this butterfly and I think she has a beautiful garden to play in! Summer is such a wonderful thing and my favourite season, the problem is it goes by so fast. I also like late spring and early autumn but am not a fan of winter. The older I get the less I like it. My Mom was like that too, so I guess I get that from her:) BUT summer, oh it is such a joy, I will even take mosquitoes and rain and garden slugs over snow.  Good thing as that is all we seem to be getting this summer year. lol

Super Kid

Doodle Pantry is one of the sponsors  over at Craft Your Passion  this week. The theme is  Anything Goes. Hop over and take a look, you might be inspired to take on the challenge with a chance to win a Doodle Pantry prize!

Card Details: I used a DP digital stamp called 'Super Birdie' - what a super birdie he is:) and  coloured him with Prismacolor markers. I framed the birdie with a Spellbinders Nestabilities die called 'Lacy Squares' . The sentiment is from the same digital set as the image and was cut with Spellbinders standard circle die cuts. I added a few embellishments  and was done. The button sits on another die cut circle called 'Beaded Circles' .   Very quick and easy.

Challenges entered:
Craft Your Passion: challenge #69 Anything Goes - this is just a fun entry  for me as I am DPDT, and will not qualify for any prize.
Sundays with Crissy: K.I.S.S - Keep it  Simple Stamper: I'm of the mind that this card is fairly simple, not a lot to it, no designer paper, one image, a sentiment and a button, and a little butterfly chasing a dew drop. Hope that works..
