DT Card for Lexi's Creations Challenge #36 - include a Ribbon but not in a Bow or Knot

My DT Card for Lexi's Creations    Challenge #36 - include a Ribbon but not in a bow  or knot

Sponsor:  Whiff of Joy Stamps : rubber stamps and accessories

It is that green time a year when many leprechauns and shamrocks have beem seen about so my card is green in honor of the Irish and in the start of spring (March 20th)!  Working on the card brought back a childhood memory of my Mother telling us how her and her brother attending the same small rural school in Alberta would give different nationalities when asked what they were. They had  Irish and English in their heritage, so Mom would say she was Irish and my Uncle would say English. The teachers although amused would ask them to sort it out. They both (Mom and Uncle)would stick to  their chosen nationality and in my Mom's case Irish she remained for most of her life; she switched to Canadian in the later years:D

This was first time I framed a stamp with ribbon and it was surprisingly easy. I did follow these instructions from a tutorial on the StampArtic site so that helped a lot. The flowers are hand made. The beautiful butterfly is from Fairy Dust Crafts and is designed by Lexi.  The largest butterfly is layered  and all three are attached with glue dots for dimension . All versions of the butterfly were coloured, cut out and layered with crystal effects.

Santa Called

All in good humour: here is Bugaboo's Crabby Cathy celebrating a hectic time of the year. I thought I would dress up the card and make it look very Christmas like and serious, until you read the sentiment (which is definitely not what one would expect). My husband said "oh Very nice' when I showed it to him. I told him to to take a good look at it  and so he did, started to laugh then said "what kind  of a Christmas card is that, you can't give that to anybody" But oh I can and I know  just who. ....he he he! What a hoot!

DT Card for Lexi's Creations Challenge #35 - Easter

My DT Card for Lexi's Creations    Challenge #35 - Easter
Sponsor:  Letraset an online store dealing with things creative (eg: markers, pads, adhesives, tutorials and well go take a look....)

I have become a big fan of the round easel card, it's quite fascinating in it's  versatility. This version  allows for the card to fold out into three different round bases, all connected.  These are not new  and have been around awhile, but they are new to me. See here for the instructions on how to put one together.    I decorated mine using the stamp 'Easter Egg Bella' from Fairy Dust Crafts. I added Crystal Effects to the egg she is holding to give it some dimension and glow.  .I made the flower using two different sized punches and punching the larger one twice. I notched out the petals of the two larger ones, sponged ink on the petals and the flower middle with mellow moss . I then tapped little dots around the middles and lower petal area  (using a black pen), then attached them all together with a brad. I think it is a great flower even if it doesn't resemble any that I know:) This method of building a flower is not my invention, I had read it some where or saw it onYou Tube and it seemed like a good way to go. The sentiment is from The Card Makers Little Helper Easter Verses, see here.

San's Card

Creative Team Card for Doodle Pantry March 5th Release  - Fancy Shoe

My sister was up visiting me from Calgary when the release came out to the DT and I was distracted from our visiting:)  San, this one's for you!

This is my first Creative Team card for Doodle Pantry and Laurie Wilson is the very talented digital image creator.  The image is an  extremely lovey 'fancy shoe' and it was super to work with.  Is it not a beautiful shoe?  Ah those must of been elegant times to have such footwear:)
I stamped a fine lace SU background stamp  to give a hint of texture to the background paper.  I handmade the flowers and punched out the leaves from Martha Stewart punches.  The sentiment  comes with the "Fancy Shoe' digital set  (along with many more).  Added a ribbon and some pearls and it was done. I  used   pinkish, peachy and coral type paper and markers to give it a spring type feel as both my sister and I have had it with this winter :)
The shoe must be the star so it is a very simple card and I am pleased with how it turned out !

Along with the new release is a  challenge at Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge. The only requirement for this challenge is to use a Doodle Pantry image, but just for playing along you will receive a free stamp set called Iris.
