Kenny K- May Challenge

Club Kenny K - May Challenge on Facebook using a Kenny K digital stamp called Safari Guy. An important milestone birthday coming up in my family this June and this is the card I will be giving away. I needed it to be masculine so kept it fairly simple.  The sentiments are my own, created in WORD.  The die cuts for the frames are all Spellbinders.  I coloured the image with a mixture of Copics and Prismacolor Markers.

Kenny K's Progressive Challenge Facebook

Kenny K's Facebook Challenge April:

I have a great nephew who is turning  twelve this year and decided to use a Kenny K  digital stamp and enter the card I made for him  in their monthly Facebook challenge. I used the image 'Cool Kid' and coloured him with  Prisma Colour and Copic markers. The Cardstock is Stampin' Up and the designer background is from a Basic Grey 'Wander Paper Pad'. I used a sketch from  'Creative  Sketchy Girls' Challenge  #10.

Won a Top 3 Placement at Creative Girl's Challenge

Happy Crafting!

Hockey Player

Birthday card for a Great Grandson who loves hockey and especially the Calgary Flames. I tried to tie some of the  Flames colours into the card. Hope he enjoys it.

I am entering this card into the Kenny K Progressive Challenge on Facebook.  You can enter with any Kenny K image and receive the 'freebie'  they are giving away for that challenge.  I choose this fun image called 'Hockey Player' , coloured him with Copics and  Prismacolor Markers then used a sketch from the 'Cheerful Sketches Challenge' blog   for the layout.

Oops

Kenny K Progressive Challenge - Facebook. You can enter with any Kenny K image and receive the 'freebie'  they are giving away for that challenge.  I choose this fun image called 'Skate Chick', coloured her with Copics and used the Mojo Monday sketch of the week for the layout. I die cut the sentiment letters  from a Tattered Lace's  alphabet die set, glued it onto a tag from a Spellbinders 'Back to Basic Tag' die cut, and adhered it onto the card base with a black brad. The gear is from a Tim Holtz thinlits die set called Gearhead. The banner is from a Stampin Up Framelits die set. I finished it all off with some red white twine.

I will be using this for a belated Birthday Card..

Happy Birthday Wishes

This the card I made for my son's Birthday. The image so reminded me of his teenage years  when he would get so involved in the moment! He is still like that but calms it down a bit, and he and his friends still have video game tournaments for his birthday and still practice ahead of time, so a lot hasn't changed. They are now 25 and 26 year old's.  This will be my son's 25th and it is so hard to believe how fast the time traveled since his birth.  There is no way he can be that old and yet he is:O)! Love him dearly!

Card details:
Stamp: Kenny K
Sentiment: Stampin Up
Card Stock : Stampin Up Old Olive and Pacific Point
Designer paper Stampin Up 'International Bazaar'
Colour Mediuim: Prismacolour Markers and Copics for the flesh tones

Note: Not my layout. I had seen  a sketch , wrote it down, created the card and when it came time to post couldn't find the note that said what sketch it was.

We're Not Too Old !

My son turns 24  and is having a Birthday bash today with all his old buddies , the theme being "We're not   too old". These kids have been friends since kindergarten and have been competing    in tournaments at his birthday parties since then.. They make up giant posters and charts to track the winners and losers and who plays who.etc. All the posters are saved and are lying under the bed in the spare room  gathering dust to be hauled out and reminisced over every year. The group has grown somewhat with new close buddies added and the fairer sex showing up.My son and his gal moved to Calgary last year, but are back up at Mom & Dads for a repeat of  a yearly party that has been  going on around nineteen years now. This will probably change as they get married and have kids of their own but  for now , at least this year,  it is  'on', let the games begin!!! My son has been blessed with a fabulous group of friends and I am so thankful for that.

The silver on the 24 (see sentiment) did not photograph very well but looks great IRL. I left the 'sign' or whatever it is blank, was going to put his name there then thought maybe not, couldn't make up my mind so blank it is:O).

BJ's Card

My friend and stamping buddy Dawn has three wonderful son's . The middle son moved out a little while ago and I have been planning on giving him a little gift ever since. He not only moved away from the nest, but to another city and has bought a home and gotten a new job. Lucky Calgary to have such a new citizen. This Kenny k stamp doesn't really look like him but it gives off the vibe of jubilation  a young man must feel at the start of a new life and going out on his own. Good Luck  and all the best that life can give BJ.

Metal Babe

Metal Babe is a digital stamp from Kenny K and she reminded me of several of my son's friends (girls) who play 'rock band' (I think that is what it is called). I recall wishing it had never been invented when they were playing it in my family room, but alas, they and the rock band are gone, as is my son and  sometimes I miss even the sound of that music. Only sometimes mind you -lol. Oh well they were and are all good kids. My son just moved out a month ago and I am still going through empty nest syndrome:)

Ice Cream Cutie

I adore Kenny K stamps and here  is one called 'TROUBLEMAKER'. This is soooo funny,  I was colouring her hair and thinking boy she has a different even, may I say, weird hairdo, but continued merrily along making the best of it. Finished  the card and them went and looked at  Kenny K's site to see what they had in their gallery. Shocked I was ,yes shocked to find that the weird hairdo was in fact a hoodie, a hoodie.   Here I had spent all that time trying to add highlights  to a freaking hoodie. I'm still trying to stop the giggles every time I look at her. I kill myself at times........ BUT I had an accomplice  who also thought it was hair....could that be my stamping buddy Dawn? Was good for a hilarious finish to a great Friday stamp n' play:).
