Backpack and Friend

Here is another back to school card, this time for our great grandson. 

I used two different images, cutting one out and overlapping the other with it. The backpack image is from a colouring page Thinking Kid and the caterpillar is from Kid's Colouring Central. Coloured them with Prismacolour markers, did a little bit of embellishing, added a computer generated sentiment and was done.  The bug is from a punch I bought at a 'garage' sale. I heat embossed the background using an  IO cling backed  rubber stamp called 'Distressed Lines'. I tried distressing the backpack at bit, not sure if it worked or not.

School Days

Yes it is that time of year and I'm busy making 'back to school' cards, this one is going to a great nephew.

 I first saw this image on a card Nana Connie had made and it quite caught my fancy!The image is from QKR Stampede (love their stamps),the paper is Stampin Up and the colouring was done with Prismacolour Markers. The punch for the banner  is from Stampin Up and  I made the head of the snake and the apple dimensional using foam tape( printed image out twice, coloured  and cut out the two items and placed over the  previously coloured image). The embossed background is from Cuttlebugs's folder 'Tiny Mosaic' .  A quick and easy card to make!

Get Well Soon

Way back when they had a vehicle called  the Chevy Corvair Rampside Pickup.  Neat idea right, it could just pull up beside a ramp and unload or pick up as the situation required. I guess it turned out to be a 'clunker'..  Still think it is a good idea though!! This image is one of the vehicles featured  in the Doodle Party 'Classic Clunkers 2' digital stamp set, see here: Love this set ! Wow, was this ever a hard card to photograph, the 'ballet blue'  true colour tones never came through, don't know how many times I photographed it and even tried  to use software to  gentle it up but guess I just don't know enough about the software to make it work. Finally gave up with a 'C'est La Vie' or in English 'That's Life' :O)!

Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the Aug. 10th challenge  over at Cupcake Inspirations and the challenge is 'bugs' with an inspirational photo. I choose a cupcake image with ants, seemed appropriate enough. Hope you can join in the challenge.

The digital image is  'Cupcake Ants' by Doodle Pantry and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up.The image was coloured with Prismacolor Markers and sitckles added to give some sparkle. I printed out the pre coloured image and used the ants  to provide dimension (cut out  the ants heads of the three  'peeping' ants and the full body of the three larger ants).  I really don't know know why I bothered to do a non - colour version as I coloured mine  much the same as hers and then used her ants. Go figure:O)!  The long blue border is from a Martha Stewart punch.
