Catch the Bug Saturday Anything Goes Challenge April 7th,2018

Time for Bugaboo's   Catch the Bug  Anything Goes challenge. I decided to use this adorable image 'Brat Cupcake  Wagon'  for my card. The card will go  to one of my great grandchildren who turns three  shortly, time moves so fast does it not?  I used an old die from Spellbinders (Lacy Squares) for the image border. and  two  Marvey punches for the flowers. Added  some rhinestones as the flower centers, and a sentiment by Stampin' Up. I used Prismacolor Markers for the colouring. A simple but cute card for a three year old.

Catch the bug Challenge Blog - 'Stella Says Sketch' April 1st, 2018

Catch the Bug Challenge Blog - 'Stella Says Sketch' April 1st, 2018  SSS607.

It is time again for Bugaboo's   Catch the Bug  sketch challenge, and a wonderful sketch it is. I chose an image   titled 'Charlie Birthday'.  I just love this goofy dog, isn't he a hoot. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the border strip and a  Stampin' Up  rubber stamp from their Party Pants  stamp set for the sentiment. I used a pin-wheel die for the embellishment rather than a flower as this will certainly be sent to young boy!

Catch the Bug Saturday Recipe Challenge March 31, 2018

Catch the Bug Recipe Challenge March 31st,2018: 1 button,2 images,3 layers;

I have a die cut white button which is adhered to the 2nd layer of the card with a dimensional , two images ( BUGFUNNY PUP and BUGFUNNYPUP2) and three layers.(card base and a Top layer, lacy Square, and dimensional male dog that is the same layer as the button)

Method:
I stamped both images and using  the Spellbinders die 'Lacy Squares'  cut out a square containing the  female dog. I coloured both images using Prismacolor markers.  I hand cut out the male dog image, positioned him beside the female and adhered  him using dimensional's.  He is on the same level as the button. The sentiment is a Stampin' Up stamp.  A quick and simple card.

Die Cut/Punch Flower Accent Tutorial- Catch the Bug- March 28th 2018

It is tutorial day at the Catch the Bug Challenge  blog and  this is my contribution for this month. It is a short tutorial on how to create  a simple  flower to use as an embellishment.  Flowers can be created using various tools and this is my version using a die and a punch.

Materials Used

  • half pearl
  • ink
  • flower punch
  • circle punch
  • flower die
  • sponge
  • sicizzors
  • glue
  • ball stylus (optional)

Instructions
1. Create flower : die cut 2 flowers using a die of your choice.( I prefer a five petal one for this type of flower  and used the  Marianne Design LR0108 die for mine.)   Punch out a five petal flower and a 1/2 circle.

2. Scizzor Cut one of the die cut flowers to a smaller size so just the ends of the  larger flower can be seen when it is placed over the larger one. This die has a indentation   ( just below the  punched out  ovals on each petal)  that allows for a guideline of where to cut.

3. Sponge the edges of the  flower pieces.

 4. Adhere the largest petaled flower to the 1/2 inch circle for stabilization. (I use a glue pen) and use the ball stylus to give it some dimension.

5.   Use the ball stylus on the second flower  before attaching it to the largest flower. This gives it more dimension than if you  adhered it to the largest flower first (due to the circle stabilization).

 6. Repeat step  on the smallest flower and adhere the half pearl to the center.

You now have a flower to use as an embellishment. Just add some leaves or flourishes and you are ready to go! If desiring a flat flower delete the use of the ball stylus. If you would like the bottom layer more dimensional  delete the use of the stabilizing circle.
