Honey Bear Birdie

I don't think I will use this colour combo again as it was really hard for me to get the  right exposure.. I must have taken a dozen or so pictures of it....my camera did not like this combination.!! The adorable birdie image is from Doodle Pantry's Jan. release, just too cute! The sentiment is  from the same stamp set which includes both pre-coloured and outline images , digital papers and sentiment. The hearts are from Provo Craft   and the little bear holding the sentiment is from my stash! I  made the bow from ribbon in my stash!

Katie's Birthday

The love of my son's life just had a birthday and this is the card  I made for her, the image just reminds me so much of her that when I first saw it I knew I had to make her birthday card with it!.  She also looks a lot like the characters Katie is very fond of drawing. Mushroom Living

 I am   delighted to do another  Guest Spot for My Crafting Heaven this time  showcasing the digital stamp 'Mushroom Living'.   Christine Gray is the  creator of these delightful mushroom homes and is showcasing them  January 23rd .   Christine's wonderful digis   can be found  here at her shop! I   first found the tutorial on Marsha's  blog and followed her link to the  site that had the instructions. Super easy to make!

DT Card for Lexi's Creations Challenge # 82 - Fancy Folds

It's a new challenge over at Lexi's Creations and this fortnight  the challenge  is 'Fancy Folds' , so no ordinary cards with just the usual one fold, we want to see multiple folds. I choose an easel card for mine!

I started out making a 'petal card' but I kept getting everything topsy turvey so ended up pulling most of it apart and using what was savable to make a fan shaped piece  which I attached to the front of the easel card. I left a gap at the top so I could  put a tag and/or gift certificate or money in it. Added the tag and a bow, and left it well enough alone!! The bottom portion of the easel was much easier. The beaded circle was another left over from the petal attempt, added a rose and a few embellishes and called it a day.. maybe some day I will try the petal card again, and then again maybe not:O)

We're Not Too Old !

My son turns 24  and is having a Birthday bash today with all his old buddies , the theme being "We're not   too old". These kids have been friends since kindergarten and have been competing    in tournaments at his birthday parties since then.. They make up giant posters and charts to track the winners and losers and who plays who.etc. All the posters are saved and are lying under the bed in the spare room  gathering dust to be hauled out and reminisced over every year. The group has grown somewhat with new close buddies added and the fairer sex showing up.My son and his gal moved to Calgary last year, but are back up at Mom & Dads for a repeat of  a yearly party that has been  going on around nineteen years now. This will probably change as they get married and have kids of their own but  for now , at least this year,  it is  'on', let the games begin!!! My son has been blessed with a fabulous group of friends and I am so thankful for that.

The silver on the 24 (see sentiment) did not photograph very well but looks great IRL. I left the 'sign' or whatever it is blank, was going to put his name there then thought maybe not, couldn't make up my mind so blank it is:O).
