Catch the Bug Challenge NR March 6th 2018

It is Tuesday and over at the "Catch the Bug" Challenge Blog that means it is new release day! The above card features a fabulous new digital stamp called  "MarchWord'! It can be found  on  the Bugaboo web site.

I wasn't sure at first what I could do with a March card as I had no female birthdays or special occasions for that month. I loved the image  and wanted to use it, so thought maybe it would make a lovely 'just because' card instead . I think my card turned out quite good and decided I will send it to one of my step-daughters. She is a big fan of anything purple or shades thereof.

Time for Bugaboo's   Catch the Bug  sketch challenge, and a wonderful sketch it is. My interpretation of the sketch is this  simple card using Bugaboo's  
 'Silhouette - Butterfly Flowers'. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the border strip and a  Stampin' Up  rubber stamp from their Party Pants  stamp set for the sentiment.

I have the honour of being asked to be a Guest Designer for the months of March and April 2018 at   Catch the Bug Challenge Blog. It is a wonderful opportunity for me to use some of my favourite Bugaboo stamps and happy I am! This is my first card  and it is for the  March 3rd Saturday Challenge  'Anything Goes' .

The  floral background paper is  from  my stash   and the three white flowers  are from a  garage sale grab bag. I added some blue centers to the white flowers and adhered them over a Cherry Lynn flourish  die cut. I also punched out  four smaller white flowers and made them part of the background. The word sentiment 'friend' is a Tim Holtz die cut.

I decided to use a Saturated Canary image  for this fortnights challenge.  She is such a   sweetie and was a freebie way back when.  The larger hearts are die cuts  from Cuttlebug's  Heart and Stamps die. The smaller hearts are from a hand punch. The image was coloured with Prismacolor Markers

Chanya is hosting the second challenge of  2018 and  the theme is Inky/Messy This can include messy paint items and  sprays etc. I choose to use ink and a Stampin Up  stamp set called Gorgeous Grunge. The butterfly is from a Marianne Designs die (LR0114).  I added some of the circles that fell out from the butterfly die cut onto the card face. The ink and paper are Stampin Up's Pacific Point.  I used Memento Black ink for some of the stamped  'blobs'. I used a background stamp for the scratchy looking background paper.
