Missing in Action

Hi all, just a quick note to let you know that my computer quit working and the hunt is on for a new one . The saving of the existing data has been turned over to those that know what to do (I have no clue whatsoever) in this case two young men (my son and his computer expert friend). I have been unable to do very little commenting over the past few days and not sure when this will change. Hopefully early next week!  I have the aid of  my stamping buddy  and dear friend Dawn  Frost to help  me meet some of my committments. Thanks for your understanding.

Spring has Sprung

I needed a quick card for the Easter donation to the Edmonton  'Stollery' Children s Hospital  and  here it is. The image is a Joanna Sheen rubber stamp   and was part of a fabulous gift from a wonderful  fellow crafter and friend in Scotland!  Isn't it adorable! I coloured with Prismacolor markers and made the hat, and the arm with the watering can dimensional by popping them up with dimensional tape. For any northern Albertan's out there  who might be interested in participating  the coordinator is Dawn Frost and any cards suitable for children 0 to 19 would be gratefully  accepted. Bring on Spring

Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the Chocolate, Coffee, Cards  challenge ( March 22, 2013).  with  the theme of  'Bring on Spring'.  I used two of Doodle Pantry's frog images from the March release digital stamp set called 'Easter Frog Pals'. Totally fun! I did not merge the images together but printed them out separately and  placed one over the other and popped it up to give dimension. Don't know why I did it this way as it would have been much easier to digitally merge them! I actually got the idea for this scenario from a fellow DT member Ellen Parker, see her card here! The fence is a die cut I  bought a while back and this is the first time I've used it. Love it!

LEJ Designs Challenge #45 'Just Add a Flower(s)'

Here is my DT card for LEJ Designs challenge #45 with the theme of Just Add a Flower(s).  This card  features  a   digi from LEJ Designs called ' Muncher' .  Isn't he adorable and I love the daffodil he is holding! I needed a Easter card so thought this would be a good opportunity to do both!  I popped up the daffodil by printing out an additional image, colouring the flower, cutting it it out and using  a pop dot ,placed it over top of the original!

Easter Bunny

I am  in the Easter card making mode which is probably a good thing as I need about 5 of them for the youngsters in our extended family!  I used a DoodlePantry image called 'Bunny Wabbit Color Plus' for this one! Yummy Decadent Dessert

Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the 'Pile it On' challenge starting Feb. 10, 2013 and the theme is 'Oh So Yummy'.   I used a precoloured Doodle Pantry  digital stamp from the stamp set called "Decadent Dessert'. I printed out two copies , used one as the base and the other to give dimension (cut out the chocolate ice cream,banana and the dish ledge and placed it on top). I also coloured over the image  with Prismacolor markers  to get the tones I wanted (printer not so good  but I think I darkened mine too much:O)) I used liquid pearls as a  glaze for the cookie heart  and on the sentiment! The little flowers were cut from a die cut called "Fairy Tale Flower Border by Memory Box.

Washin' Board

I can actually recall my Mother using the wash board and when she got her first big white modern wringer wash. She was so happy about how much easier it was to do the wash, although we still had to haul the water in and heat it up on the stove, no changing the water , just adding more hot water into it as the wash went along .White went first of course . It took most of the day to do it and in the winter Mom's hands would be  bright red from the cold. Gloves didn't work so well with the clothespins I guess!I think this image would be great for an elderly Mother/Aunt who might have some memories of them , but for my purposes it will be   a  'get well' card for someone who isn't feeling up to par!
